Supporting Taizé

“What profound spirituality does a painting convey? Where does it come from?”

In a small village in France, Taizé, I found a “living” source that has called me back every year since 2011. What did I experience? The connection with the Creator God and a powerful urge that I have never felt anywhere else—to intertwine my faith practice with creation, drawing from this source every year and sharing it with my surroundings. The silence, the rhythm of the chants, and the profound spirituality of the environment infused every piece I created there. The brush moved through Them…

Dear Visitor, I would like to highlight a few important points regarding the Taizé community: I have been visiting this beautiful place almost every year for a long time, and I consider myself worthy of calling myself one of the community’s pilgrim members. I feel it is my duty and heartfelt obligation to adhere to the community’s rules, including those related to commercial activities! The community is self-sufficient, and supporting their work is my goal. I do not intend to take away their means of livelihood! I go there for the inspiring environment and the inspiration that strengthens not only my art but also my soul, not to sell the works created there at their expense! My greatest desire is for art to help spread the spirit of this place to every corner of the world. This goal encourages me to be humble and attentive, ensuring that I strictly seek supporters only outside Taizé! I also commit to linking personal interests to the rules and prioritizing Taizé! Therefore, I ask that you primarily support the monks by purchasing their products and follow the links after my writing to learn more and make a pilgrimage to this unique place.

Excerpt from their website: “Our community’s vocation compels us to live solely from our own work, and to accept neither donations, nor inheritances, nor gifts – nothing at all. The boldness of not securing any capital for ourselves, without fear of potential poverty, gives us immeasurable strength.” Sources of Taizé
